Author: John Boyne
Blurb: The story of 'The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas' is very difficult to describe. Usually we give some clues about the book on the cover, but in this case we think that would spoil the reading of the book. We think it is important that you start to read without knowing what it is about. If you do start to read this book, you will go on a journey with a nine-year-old boy called Bruno. (Though this isn't a book for nine-year-olds.) And sooner or later you will arrive with Bruno at a fence. We hope you never have to cross such a fence.
Bio on Author: John Boyne is an Irish author, born in 30 April 1971. At 31 his the author of about seven books. Another of his book's 'Mutiny On The Bounty' is also a favorite of mine, I may do a review on it as well if i get the time.
My Thoughts: First off the bat i'd like to say this book is AMAZING! Everyone should read this book. At first a young boy named Bruno was just a normal boy totally oblivious to whats going on in the world at the time. So when he moves to a concentration camp, that his father was in charge of he thought the people on the other side of the fence were just normal people.
This book really does get you thinking about how only children have the ability not to judge people by there race or religion. The ending was especially sad! i honestly almost cried, and i have never cried during a book.
The cover the book has is so simple and really doesn't give much away. Which is what I really loved about it, just going into the book without a clear idea of what was going to happen made me appreciate the book so much more! The blurb also didn't give much away.
